On June 2024, 6, the Statistics Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications launched an online course called "Introduction to Data Science for Working Adults" aimed at working adults and university students to learn basic knowledge of statistical data analysis. The course is free of charge.

 In "Introduction to Data Science for Working Adults," participants learn basic knowledge of statistical data analysis, such as the basics of statistics and how to interpret statistical data, in order to develop human resources with strong "data science" skills, and are able to use the data they have at home. Over the course of four weeks, participants will learn everything from the basics of statistics to how to obtain and use official statistical data through six to nine lecture videos, each about 1 minutes long. Instructors include Professor Ataka Kazuto of Keio University's Faculty of Environment and Information Studies. A certificate of completion will be issued if participants achieve a certain level of performance in the weekly confirmation tests and final assignment.

 The course will run from Tuesday, June 2024th to Tuesday, August 6th, 11, and you can register for classes up until Monday, July 8th (registration and course fees are free).
