Denso Wave Co., Ltd., Saitama University, Nippon Signal Co., Ltd., and Nippon Electric Co., Ltd. have developed a system to prevent artificial aircraft departure delays with the aim of saving energy in aircraft fuel.At the airport, the world's first basic evaluation test for this system was conducted at Chubu International Airport.
Departure delays of 15 minutes or more due to passengers not boarding at the airport by the boarding time are said to amount to 150 out of 5 million domestic and international flights per year (according to a 2015 Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism survey).Delayed recovery operation is required to secure on-time operation, and extra aircraft fuel such as changes in flight altitude and flight speed is consumed.
In the NEDO project (Note), we have developed a device to prevent artificial delays in aircraft departure for the purpose of saving energy in aircraft fuel. "Self Bag Drop machine (automatic baggage check-in machine)" links passengers and checked baggage information with electronic tags, and "E-gate" registers and collates boarding pass and passport information / biometrics (face recognition). I do. The "passenger search device" identifies the person and his / her location from the camera image. "Belt loader vehicle electronic tag antenna device, human machine interface (HMI) of wearable terminal" enables quick unloading of checked baggage of non-passengers and reduces the work load of baggage loading staff.
Based on these technologies, we have developed a prototype aircraft departure delay suppression system. As a result of conducting a basic evaluation test (December 2018-12, 3 and January 14-2019, 1) using the boarding gate of Chubu Centrair International Airport, it is effective in shortening the time to unload checked baggage. Shown. As a result, extra consumption of aircraft fuel can be reduced by ensuring on-time performance, and energy saving effects are expected. In the future, it plans to consider problems and issues, and aim for early commercialization through demonstration experiments.
