The Japan Science and Technology Agency and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization have selected the eight final nominees for the University-Based Venture Awards 2024. The awards ceremony will be held on August 8 at Tokyo Big Sight in Koto Ward, Tokyo.

 According to the Japan Science and Technology Agency, the final nominees were:
・AWL, which is developing video analysis solutions using edge AI technology with support from Hokkaido University
・"Ecumenopolis" develops conversational AI platform with support from Waseda University
・QELL, developing a quantum computer control device with support from Osaka University
・Sonia Therapeutics, developing next-generation ultrasound treatment device with support from Tohoku University
・Topologic, which is developing a new memory using topological materials with support from the University of Tokyo
・Tregem Biopharma, which is developing a tooth regeneration drug by controlling tooth number with support from Kyoto University
・Platinum Bio, which is developing services using genome editing technology with the support of Hiroshima University
・LinkMed, which is developing next-generation radiopharmaceuticals using copper radioisotopes with the support of the Institute of Quantum Medical Science
- 8 companies.

 From these, awards such as the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology Award, the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award, and the Japan Science and Technology Agency Chairman's Award are selected.
