On August 2024, 8, Jissen Women's University has decided to appoint freelance journalist Akira Ikegami as a visiting professor.
Mr. Ikegami is a former chief reporter at NHK and currently works as a freelance journalist, as well as serving as a professor at Meijo University, a specially appointed professor at the Tokyo Institute of Technology, a visiting professor at the University of Tokyo, a visiting professor at Rikkyo University, a specially appointed professor at Shinshu University, and a specially appointed professor at the Faculty of Economics at Aichi Gakuin University.
He gave a keynote speech and a panel discussion at the special event commemorating the 2024th anniversary of Jissen Women's University, "JISSEN Global Way - Nurturing future globalization in a practical society," held on June 6, 2, and approximately 125 participants listened to his valuable talks.
This special project created a connection between Ikegami and Jissen Women's University, and as he is expected to contribute to the university as an outstanding renowned individual with a wide range of knowledge and experience, the appointment was decided after deliberation by the Standing Board of Directors. The term of office will be from August 2024, 8 to March 1, 2027 (3 years and 31 months), and if renewed, it will be renewed in one-year increments. Ikegami will be the fourth visiting professor at Jissen Women's University. In the future, he is scheduled to give lectures as a visiting professor at Jissen Women's University and Jissen Women's University.
