Tokyo City University will introduce a new "General Selection (Early Information-based)" for the 4 entrance examinations for four faculties and six departments related to information. The selection will be based on the total score of "Information I & II (university-specific questions) 6 points" and "Common University Entrance Test (2025 subjects) 200 points." Following the establishment of the new subject "Information" in the revised curriculum guidelines for high schools, this new selection will be introduced ahead of other universities nationwide.
The four information-related faculties and six departments that are eligible are the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Department of Electrical, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Faculty of Information Engineering, Department of Information Science, Faculty of Information Engineering, Department of Intelligent Information Engineering, Faculty of Information Engineering, Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Media and Information Science, and Department of Design and Data Science, Faculty of Design and Data Science.
Sample questions for "Information I and II (university-specific questions)" are available on the university's website. It is also possible to use the qualifications for the Information External Examination designated by the university. If you use the Information External Examination, you can choose not to take the "Information I and II" exam on the day of the exam, and if you do take the exam, those with high scores will be accepted.
If you use external information technology examinations, you will be given a deemed score, with the Applied Information Technology Engineer Examination being 200 points, the Fundamental Information Technology Engineer Examination being 160 points, and if you have a higher level of knowledge and skills required for the higher level qualification examinations administered by the Information-Technology Promotion Agency (e.g., Network Specialist Examination, System Architect Examination, etc.), you can consult with us before applying. Certificates of qualification are available for those who have taken the exam after April 2022.
