Showa Women's University's Institute for Contemporary Education, in collaboration with Dentsu's Active Learning Research Institute, will be offering a series of six "Proactive Training Sessions for Teachers, by Teachers," or "Sakisan" for short, starting on Saturday, September 3, 2024, for high school teachers and students aspiring to become high school teachers.

Aiming to provide interesting and useful teacher training, "Sen 3" started in the 2022 academic year. It is aimed at high school teachers (including teachers at junior and senior high schools) and students aiming to become high school teachers. The program explores and co-creates near-future learning through proactive dialogue with people from different industries outside the education sector, focusing on the four powers of dialogue, logic, criticism, and creativity. Participants will create a community where they can keep in touch and help each other, and will hold offline meetups and proactive dialogues between lessons. In addition, support will be provided to realize proactive projects in each region and school even after all lessons are completed.

Participants in the 2023 class shared their thoughts, saying, "I used to think being ahead of the curve meant doing new things than others, but I've changed my mind and now think it means doing what you want to do while having a vision for the distant future," "I've gained the resolve and determination to accept that the 1% have to get the 99% involved," and "It was exciting. I was struck by the idea that the teachers were having fun deviating from the standard, how important it is to find a balance between standard and uniqueness, and how important it is to reach that agreement."

In 2024, a program was created based on the theme of "Ha" from the traditional Japanese concept of "Shu-Ha-Ri," which states that in order to create something new, it is necessary to break and go beyond the boundaries. With funding from the Mitsubishi Mirai Education Foundation, Showa Women's University's Institute of Contemporary Education and Dentsu Active Learning's How Do You Like This Institute have teamed up to provide a total of six programs, including "Loosening," "Reducing," "Creating Ideas," "Making an Axis," "Researching," and "Getting Ahead."
