Kanazawa Seiryo University, which is committed to supporting students in finding employment, held the offshore job-hunting cruise "Hoshi☆Tabi 2024 in KOREA" from August 8st to 21th, 25.

"Hoshi☆Tabi" is one of the employment support systems that Kanazawa Seiryo University has been running since 2010, where students who are about to start job hunting undergo training on board a ferry with the support of seniors who have already finished their job hunting. So far, the trip has been to destinations such as Shanghai in China, Vladivostok in Russia, and Hokkaido. In reference to crew members, the students who are about to start job hunting (first to third year university students and first year junior college students) are called "crew" (crew members), and the seniors who have already finished their job hunting (fourth year university students and second year junior college students) are called "skippers" (helmsmen) who have knowledge, skills and judgment that surpass those of the crew.

This time, a total of 24 university and junior college students (5 crew members and 29 skippers) boarded the ship, heading for Busan, Korea, their first overseas trip in five years. With the theme of "Going Beyond the Sea, Going Beyond Yourself," the ship held training to improve presentation skills and logical thinking through group discussions. After arriving in Busan, the students had free time, and while it was the first time for most of them to go overseas, they experienced cultures and food different from Japan, met local people, and enjoyed a fulfilling summer trip of self-discovery.

Students who completed the trip commented, "Through Hoshi☆Tabi, I think I have grown to be able to speak well in front of people. I reflected on my past and talked to the other crew members, which deepened my self-understanding. Hearing about the other crew members' pasts allowed me to compare them with my own personality and discover my own strengths and weaknesses" (2nd year, Faculty of Economics, Department of Business Administration), and "I think I have grown in my communication skills by participating in Hoshi☆Tabi. Everyone I met in Korea was kind, and they tried desperately to understand me, even when I spoke to them in Japanese or English, and I felt a great sense of warmth. I learned a lot from people who were more experienced in life during the training, and I definitely felt that it helped me, so I was able to complete a wonderful journey of self-discovery" (2nd year, Faculty of Human Sciences, Department of Child Studies). It appears that Hoshi☆Tabi was a fruitful place for growth for the students.
