On November 2024, 11, Josai International University and MatsuKiyo Cocokara & Company Co., Ltd. signed a comprehensive collaboration agreement to promote the "realization of well-being" through industry-academia collaboration. Based on Josai International University's high level of research capabilities in the specialized field of health science that it has built up to date and MatsuKiyo Cocokara & Company's store network, the two companies will take on the challenge of creating new value in well-being from Chiba Prefecture to the whole country.
Josai International University plans to establish a "Faculty of Health Sciences" that brings together nursing, physical therapy, pharmacy, and welfare into one team, aiming not only to treat illnesses but also to achieve well-being so that people at all stages of life can be active and healthy. MatsuKiyo Cocokara & Company operates over 3,400 drugstores and dispensing pharmacies nationwide as its core business, and aims to promote well-being management in which employees themselves are healthy.
The two organizations have a track record in the development of a registered pharmaceutical salesperson training program that began in February 2024. This agreement will combine the resources of MatsuKiyo Cocokara & Company, such as "promoting employee health and preventing serious illness through the intervention of physical therapists," "training specialized human resources in collaboration with educational and research institutions," and "practicing well-being management," with the knowledge, technology, and know-how of Josai International University, such as "verifying the effectiveness of physical approaches to industrial workers," "practicing multi-disciplinary collaboration and improving the educational capabilities of faculty members through collaboration with companies," and "contributing to society through research aimed at solving problems in the industrial world," with the aim of realizing new well-being through business and research in the areas of promoting well-being, promoting industrial health, training specialized human resources, supporting lifelong learning and employment, and pursuing expertise and originality.
