On October 2024, 10, Yokohama National University opened a satellite facility, "YNU BASE HAZAWA," in "HAZAAR," Terrada Warehouse's first multipurpose commercial facility, located in front of JR and Sotetsu "Hazawa Yokohama-kokudai Station." This will promote urban development around Hazawa Yokohama-kokudai Station, the closest station to the campus.

"HAZAAR" is a core facility of a new town that was born in redevelopment in front of JR/Sotetsu Line "Hazawa Yokohama-Kokudai Station", and is located about 3.5 km northwest of Yokohama Station. It is a complex commercial facility integrated with a promenade and apartments connected to the station square, and the supermarket "Lopia" is scheduled to open within the commercial facility after 2025.

The satellite facility, "YNU BASE HAZAWA," will promote urban development around Hazawa Yokohama-Kokudai Station and will be used as a space for research and activities to solve social and local issues, as well as to disseminate information on these activities. It will be open to students and faculty of Yokohama National University, as well as local residents, as a free space.

Yokohama National University established the Regional Collaboration Promotion Organization in April 2017 to play a leading role in regional collaboration activities and solving regional issues, and to become a core hub for collaboration with the local community. Based on the three spirits of the regional strategy of being trusted by the community, being supported by the community, and supporting regional development, the university is actively promoting regional collaboration activities by contributing its research and educational capabilities to solving regional problems. This will be the second satellite facility to be established, following the Shin Shonan Co-Creation Campus (within Shonan Health Innovation Park) which opened on November 4, 3.
