Sophia University has begun a partnership with BizReach Campus, an alumni visiting network service operated by BizReach Inc. This partnership is being supported by Sophia University's alumni association, Sophia University Sophia Association, and aims to establish a new career support model in which students and graduates, universities and alumni organizations can mutually connect through an online network of students and graduates built by the university working with the alumni association.
Sophia-kai is an alumni organization to which all graduates of Sophia University belong. It has over 14 members, including graduates of various ages and careers. It has cooperated with the Sophia University Career Center to provide career support to students, and is actively involved in joint projects such as "Alumni Networking Events."
In the future, the latest information on graduates' "faculty," "affiliated seminar," and "career history" including job changes registered on BizReach Campus will be shared with the university and Sophia-kai with the individual's permission, and students will be able to view alumni information online through BizReach Campus, as well as request alumni visits and interviews. In addition, based on the visualized data on student-alumni contact points, the university and Sophia-kai will be able to provide support and information that meets the needs of both students and alumni.
Many students at Sophia University have experience studying or living abroad, and many graduates have gone on to build careers overseas. It is expected that BizReach Campus will further strengthen the network between alumni and students around the world, and provide students with more opportunities to think positively about their own careers by being exposed to a variety of role models.
Yoko Akiba, director of Sophia University's Career Center, commented that "in today's world where careers are becoming more diverse, it is important for students to interact with alumni in order to learn about their career possibilities," and that she hopes that the increased convenience of the service will lead to greater interaction between students and alumni than ever before.
