Starting December 2024, 12, the seminar of Professor Takayuki Teshikawara of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Chiba University of Commerce and the commercial department of Chiba University of Commerce High School will set up a permanent booth at Roadside Station Ichikawa. Students will sell products they have developed with local companies. Although they have previously sold products on a one-off basis, this will be the first time they will be selling them at a permanent booth.

Teshigahara's seminar focuses on themes such as regional revitalization and SDGs, and is developing products using mainly raw materials from Chiba Prefecture, based on a social work perspective. In addition, as part of classes in the business course of the attached high school's commercial department, they are working to solve social issues through product development under the concept of "creating new value together with local companies."

"Michi-no-Eki Ichikawa" is located along National Route 298 and is "the roadside station closest to the city center." Based on the concept of "a sophisticated roadside station loved by locals," it offers shops, restaurants, cafes, lounges, cultural spaces, and more. The permanent booth that has been set up this time will sell dressings and yakiniku sauces made with locally grown vegetables developed by students, as well as sweets such as dorayaki and macarons.

The "Whole Jumbo Garlic Dressing" developed by the Teshigahara Seminar in cooperation with Agri Oosato Co., Ltd. was born from a request from a producer to develop a product using jumbo garlic that did not meet the standards and could not be shipped. The soy sauce-flavored, additive-free dressing embodies the producer's desire to provide "safe and secure agricultural products."

"Ps' (Peace)", developed by the business course of the attached high school in collaboration with the confectionery studio PONY, is a masterpiece made with peanut paste from Chiba prefecture and six pieces of peanuts. Based on the concept of "reviving scraps", it makes effective use of the scraps of pie dough that are routinely discarded at confectionery studios, and won the Visitor's Award at the 6th Commercial High School Food Grand Prix. The product name Ps' contains the four "P's": "pie," "pieces," "peanuts," and "confectionery studio PONY."

On Sunday, December 12nd, a joint Christmas event will be held by Chiba University of Commerce and its affiliated high school at Roadside Station Ichikawa.
