The Faculty of Health Sciences at Kitasato University Niigata Campus (Minamiuonuma City, Niigata Prefecture) has established a "Special Treatment Scholarship" that will waive up to the full cost of tuition fees in the first year, as well as the grant-type "Minamiuonuma City Academic Encouragement Scholarship" that utilizes Minamiuonuma City Hometown Support Subsidies.
The "Special Treatment Scholarship" is for students who have achieved outstanding results in the entrance exam for the Faculty of Health Sciences and are considered to have a promising future. A maximum of 12 students will be selected, 24 from each of the Nursing Department and Medical Testing Department. One student will be selected for a full tuition exemption, two for a half-price exemption, and three for a one-third-price exemption through the general selection process and the selection process using the Common University Entrance Examination, and these will be reduced from tuition fees at the time of enrollment. This scholarship cannot be used in conjunction with the Minamiuonuma City Learning Entrance Scholarship.
The Minamiuonuma City Learning Encouragement Scholarship (grant type) was established as part of efforts to improve the educational environment and support students' learning, using subsidies from hometown tax donations to Minamiuonuma City. All new students (eligible for all entrance examination systems) enrolled as of May 2025 of the 5 academic year will receive a flat rate of 1 yen. This cannot be used in conjunction with special treatment scholarships.
Kitasato University has medical faculties such as the School of Pharmacy, School of Medicine, School of Allied Health Sciences, and School of Nursing, as well as the School of Future Engineering, which uses ICT to analyze data, and practices advanced medical care at its three affiliated hospitals.
