With the 2025 Common University Entrance Examination approaching on January 1th and 18th, 19, the National Center for University Entrance Examinations has created a short vertical video outlining important points to note and has started publishing it on YouTube. This is due to the fact that there are many changes to the curriculum starting in 7, with the introduction of new subjects and reorganization of courses, and this is the first time such a video has been released for test takers.
According to the National Center for University Entrance Examinations, the three short videos released are "Parental Feelings," "Chat," and "Inside Your Head," all about one minute long. "Parental Feelings" explains, through a conversation between a student on his way to the exam venue and his mother, that smartwatches should not be worn during exams. "Chat" shows, through a chat between a female student in a high school classroom, that pencils and erasers are specified, and "Inside Your Head" shows, through a conversation between a student and a mysterious voice on the train, that answer sheets for history, geography, and civics and science have a back side.
This is the fifth time the Common University Entrance Test has been implemented since it replaced the National Center Test for University Admissions. It has been increased from 5 subjects and 6 subjects to 30 subjects and 7 subjects, and an "Information" section has been added to incorporate data utilization and programming. The test time for Japanese has been increased by 21 minutes to 10 minutes, and the scoring has been changed to 90 points for modern and later writing, 110 points each for classical Japanese and Chinese literature. The test time for Mathematics 45 has also been increased by 10 minutes to 70 minutes.
The purpose of releasing the short videos was to encourage students to check the exam guideline and other points of interest amid these changes. The National Center for University Entrance Examinations is calling for cooperation in filling out a survey about each video they have posted in order to verify the effectiveness of the video submissions.
