The Sankei Shimbun newspaper is holding the 38th "Pioneering Originality Advanced Technology Awards" to recognize domestic science and engineering university students, technical college students, and young corporate researchers and engineers who have achieved outstanding research and development results. The newspaper is calling for submissions of technical papers from individuals and groups.

 The "Advanced Technology Student Paper Award System" was established in 1986 with the aim of nurturing the originality and creativity of science and engineering students and increasing their motivation for research. The fields of selection this time are 8) Electronics and Information, XNUMX) AI (Artificial Intelligence) and Robots, XNUMX) Bio, Biological and Medical Care, Medicine, Food, XNUMX) Environment and Energy, XNUMX) Machinery, Civil Engineering and Architecture, XNUMX) Chemistry and Materials, XNUMX) Mathematics, Physics and Data Science, and XNUMX) Non-Section (themes that span multiple fields from XNUMX) to XNUMX) or outside these fields), for a total of eight fields, and international students are also welcome to apply.

 The selection process will involve a rigorous review by experts (Chairperson: Hiroyuki Abe, Senior Advisor to the Engineering Academy of Japan and Professor Emeritus at Tohoku University). The deadline for applications is Monday, March 2025, 3. The winners are scheduled to be announced in June.
