On April 2025, 4, Konan Women's University opened the Leadership Education Center with the aim of nurturing the ability of each student to demonstrate their own unique "new leadership" and contribute to organizations and society.

Leadership in the future will not only mean "leading the team." A new type of leadership is required, where team members share the team's goals, adapt to the situation, and utilize their individual strengths to demonstrate their own unique style of leadership. Konan Women's University defines the "new leadership" required in the future as "the ability to influence other members to achieve team goals." It is a skill that all members should demonstrate, regardless of position or authority, and the university is focusing on educating them on this.

In 2017, the university began offering the first university-wide general education course in the Kansai region to foster "new leadership" (according to a survey by Konan Women's University). In 2022, the university will establish a university-certified "Leadership Program" divided into three stages: basic, applied, and advanced, creating a system for students to acquire "new leadership" in a practical manner over a period of several years.

Starting in the 2025 academic year, all new students will be encouraged to take the "New Leadership" course. A major feature of the course is that all new students who wish to do so will be able to spend a year learning "New Leadership" in classes across faculties and departments.

The Leadership Education Center will support the operation of this university-wide "New Leadership" course group and evaluate and improve the curriculum and class content. Professor Saeki Isamu (Professor, Faculty of Human Sciences) will serve as the center's director. The center will continue to research and develop "New Leadership" education, incorporating the latest knowledge and knowledge to evolve the education program.

The Leadership Education Center will also collaborate with other educational institutions such as other universities and high schools, as well as companies, to provide more practical learning opportunities. In 2025, elements of "new leadership" development will be incorporated into Osaka Prefectural Suita Higashi High School's "Comprehensive Inquiry Time," with students from Konan Women's University leading the class. On Saturday, August 2025, 8, a "new leadership" training session will be held for university administrative staff in Hyogo Prefecture, in collaboration with the University Consortium Hyogo Kobe. Students will act as coaches and be in charge of "creating a space for dialogue through questions."
