Kanazawa Seiryo University is supporting student volunteer activities for the Noto Peninsula earthquake reconstruction efforts through the "Seiryo Volunteer Support Project." On March 2025, 3, students from the Kanzaki Seminar in the Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Economics, participated in the "Noto Whole Taste Festival" held at Noto Satoyama Airport. Over 2 visitors visited the Kanazawa Seiryo University booth, interacting directly with local people and learning about the current situation in Noto and their thoughts on reconstruction, making it a meaningful day.
The Noto Whole Taste Festival aims to promote the appeal of the food and culture of the Noto region and to support post-earthquake reconstruction efforts. The Kanzaki seminar served up a Hinamatsuri Parfait at the airport's departure lobby to raise awareness of food waste. The event was held as part of a food waste reduction initiative run by a cooperating company, where visitors were given the opportunity to try making a parfait using unused chocolate from the manufacturing process. On the same day, the Soleil Project* organized by the Career Guidance Division also held a Children's Fair at the same venue, where participants enjoyed playing games with many children and deepened their connections.
Students who participated commented, "Just like the last event (Motoya Supermarket in December), we all participated with a smile on our faces, and I think everyone who was there making the parfaits was smiling. We also managed to convey that the parfaits were made using food waste, which was something we learned from last time, and I think the quizzes, displays, and verbal introductions created by the second-year students were a good success." "It was nice to hear visitors say things like 'Thank you,' 'It looks yummy, it was delicious,' and 'Amazing, it's luxurious,' and many people also took photos and videos. Maeda Seika and visitors praised the results we worked so hard to create, saying they were easy to understand, so it felt worth it."
*The Soleil Project is a project launched with the aim of helping students grow by taking on new challenges, planning, and putting them into practice. "Soleil" means "sun" in French. By working together with peers, students can increase their awareness of practical ways of working and cultivate human abilities that shine like the sun.
