Mimasaka University (Tsuyama City, Okayama Prefecture) has decided to refund all enrollment fees paid by students who have passed the entrance exams for national or public universities and decided to continue on to those universities. This is in accordance with a request sent by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology to representatives of educational corporations under its jurisdiction in June, and refund applications will be accepted until the end of March 6.
According to Mimasaka University, the entrance exams that are eligible for the refund of the admission fee are the multiple application category of the comprehensive selection, the general public recruitment of the school recommendation selection, the general selection, and the selection using the common university entrance test. Among those who passed each entrance exam, the full amount of the admission fee paid will be refunded to those who passed the national or public university entrance exam and decided to go to that university.
The documents required for return are the national and public university entrance exam admission ticket, a copy of the acceptance notice, and a notice of admission refusal filled out in the Mimasaka University designated form. After checking the contents, the money will be returned promptly, but the applicant will be responsible for the bank transfer fee. The application deadline is the end of March 2026.
Mimasaka University was founded in 1915 during the Taisho era as Tsuyama Higher Sewing School, opened Mimasaka Women's College in 1967, and became coeducational in 2003, changing its name to Mimasaka University. Currently, it has a Faculty of Life Sciences, a Graduate School of Life Sciences, and a Graduate School of Human Development. It is the only university in Tsuyama City, and in 2024 it requested Tsuyama City to make it a public university. Tsuyama City has set up a panel of experts to discuss the merits of publicization, and full-scale discussions have begun since June 2025.
