Tokyo City University will change the name of the Faculty of Engineering, which has been the basis of the university since its establishment in 1929, to the Faculty of Science and Engineering, and establish the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Design.In addition, the name of the Faculty of Knowledge Engineering, which was established in 2007, will be changed to the Faculty of Information Engineering. From 2020, the system will change from the previous 6 faculties and 17 departments to 7 faculties and 17 departments.This major reorganization aims to make it easier to recall the direction and overall picture of education and research from the names of the faculties and departments, and to further clarify the connection between the faculties and graduate schools.

　The newly established Faculty of Architecture and Urban Design aims to develop human resources who have the specialized ability of architecture and urban engineering and problem-solving ability including design ability, and can expand the possibilities of society.The Department of Architecture and Urban Engineering was separated from the conventional Faculty of Engineering and newly established as the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Design. There will be two departments, "120 students in the Department of Architecture" and "100 students in the Department of Urban Engineering".
