The "Book Exhibition that Changed the World" held by Kanazawa Institute of Technology at the Ueno Royal Museum in Taito-ku, Tokyo in 2018 was selected for the Science Journalist Award of the Japan Science and Technology Journalists Conference.This is the first time that the exhibition has been selected for the Science Journalist Award, and the award ceremony will be held on May 2019, 5 at the Japan Press Center in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.
According to the Kanazawa Institute of Technology, the book exhibition is a collection of the first edition books on the world-changing discoveries by Copernicus, Galileo, Newton, etc. held by the Kanazawa Institute of Technology Library Center. 137 valuable first edition books such as "On the Revolution of the World" were exhibited.
Other than the Ueno no Mori Museum, it was held at the 2012st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture in 21, the Nagoya City Science Museum in Naka Ward, Nagoya City in 2013, and Grand Front Osaka in Kita Ward, Osaka City in 2015. 17 people are visiting.
The Japan Science and Technology Journalists Conference explained the reasons for the selection, saying, "Many visitors were able to directly touch the first edition of the book that opened a new world and learn the role it played in the development of science."
The Japan Science and Technology Journalist Conference Science Journalist Award recognizes individuals and groups who have made outstanding achievements in the press, publication, and video related to science and technology. In 2019, a total of 4 entries were received, including 7 newspapers, 42 videos, 2 books, 3 web sites, and 58 exhibits.
