Meiji Gakuin University (Minato-ku, Tokyo) Faculty of Economics, Department of International Business, introduced a "study abroad system" into the curriculum from students enrolled in 2015.As a general rule, all students will study abroad for 2 to 3 months in the fall semester of the second year. The purpose is to strengthen the "global communication skills" and "global experience" that are indispensable for global human resources.

There are various study abroad destinations from Western countries to Asia, and we select partner schools mainly in countries that are expected to be Japanese business partners in the future. Therefore, we are paying attention not only to English-speaking countries such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia, but also to Asian countries and Croatia in Europe.

While studying abroad, you will have the opportunity to take specialized subjects (economics, management, accounting) and "Business English" lectures by professors at the local university, and to deepen exchanges with local university students, so that you can improve your communication skills. In addition, experience the culture of the destination, visit companies, conduct marketing research in the field, and experience an international business sense. There is also a study abroad program that incorporates internships, and by actually working with local staff, you can further broaden your horizons. To prepare for study abroad, faculty and staff with abundant overseas experience will advise you on selecting a study abroad destination according to the needs of your students, and will also provide care after you go to the site.In addition, "Business English" and "Foreign language subscription" to improve foreign language skills are also available.

After returning to Japan, a debriefing session will be held.By announcing the results of market research conducted at the study abroad destination and sharing the research results, we will not only improve our ability to analyze information and disseminate information, but also deepen our understanding of the global market, needs, and current situation.
