The Chiba University Environmental ISO Student Committee volunteered to clean the air conditioner filters in laboratories at the Nishi-Chiba Campus in Inage-ku, Chiba City and the Yanasa Campus in Chuo-ku, Chiba City.The profits will be used for the committee's environmental activities with the aim of increasing the energy efficiency of air conditioners and promoting energy conservation.
According to Chiba University, 51 student members of the committee participated in the cleaning activities of paid volunteers.The Nishi-Chiba Campus had a two-day shift, and the Inohana Campus had a three-day shift. The filter was removed, cleaned, and installed.
The committee was established in 14001 when Chiba University began to acquire the international standard ISO2003 for environmental management, and it has various activities such as student-led educational activities to reduce environmental burden, environmental education in elementary and junior high schools and kindergartens, greening, and production of eco-friendly goods.
