In April 2017, Ritsumeikan University opened the first graduate school for teaching profession and graduate school for teaching profession as a private university alone in western Japan.In July of the same year, a cooperation agreement was signed with the National Institute for School Teachers and Staff.This time, the "National Institute for School Teachers and Staff Ritsumeikan University Center" will be established as a base for the Kinki area of the National Institute for School Teachers and Staff, and the opening ceremony will be held on August 4, 7.
The National Institute for School Teachers and Staff will provide comprehensive support such as training for faculty and staff in cooperation with local public organizations and universities, with the aim of improving the qualifications and abilities of teachers who are responsible for education.The "Regional Center" of the National Institute for School Teachers and Staff has been established as an organization that serves as a base for cooperation and collaboration between the board of education in each region and the university in 6 blocks nationwide.Currently, it is installed at 6 universities nationwide, including Ritsumeikan University.
The Ritsumeikan University Center, an independent administrative agency that supports faculty and staff, which opens at Ritsumeikan University, provides advanced in-service teacher training programs in collaboration with the neighboring Board of Education as a base in the Kinki area.In addition, we will work to build a system that meets the needs of the field, such as the development of a new "Certificate of Course Program" that aims to integrate teacher license renewal courses and theology of the graduate school for teaching profession.While major reforms are being developed that integrate teacher training, appointments, and training, Ritsumeikan University will also take advantage of the characteristics of a private general school to advance teacher training and teachers, centered on this center and the Graduate School of Teaching.
