Mr. Tatsuya Furusawa, a 2019th year student in the Department of Electronic Information Science and Engineering, Faculty of Science and Technology, Gunma University, won the grand prize at the Japan Student Services Organization XNUMX Outstanding Student Award in the field of social contribution.
The Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) encourages and supports students who have made outstanding achievements, and awards excellent students with the aim of contributing to the development of promising human resources who will lead the 21st century.
This award was given in recognition of the ICT educational activities of PPP-C, an unofficial student group of the university to which Mr. Furusawa belongs. ICT education is an educational method that utilizes information and communication technologies such as personal computers, tablet terminals, and the Internet. PPP-C (Professional Pierrot Programming Circle) not only improves their abilities in study sessions for students, but also promotes ICT education in Gunma prefecture together with private companies and local governments.Mr. Furusawa was involved in the establishment of multiple ICT education groups as the center of the group, and provided ICT education to more than 1000 people annually.
There are six fields of excellent student awards: academics, culture / arts, sports, social contribution, industrial innovation ventures, and international exchange.
