The Institute for Molecular Science, Meiji University has been registered and certified as an "Environmental Technology Partners" by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).This is the first university research institute in Japan.
WIPO is a United Nations organization related to the international intellectual property system such as patents, copyrights, trademarks, and designs.Currently, 192 countries including Japan are members.Among them, "WIPO GREEN Partners" was established as a global network organization specializing in environmental technology, mainly for the purpose of promoting and disseminating the technology between international countries. In 2019, 13 organizations such as Meiji University Institute of Polymer Science, Canon Co., Ltd., Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property were registered and certified.
From the Institute of Polymer Science, Meiji University, separation and recovery technology for carbon dioxide, which is a greenhouse gas, hydrogen gas purification technology, which is a clean energy, bioethanol production technology, plant-derived plastic development technology, and marine plastic waste countermeasures. Etc. are registered in the global database of WIPO GREEN.Furthermore, in cooperation with domestic and foreign partners, we plan to support the development of developing countries, especially from the aspect of environmental technology, based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
