Tohoku University conducted a health survey of about 2012 temporary housing (prefabricated / private rental housing) residents in Miyagi prefecture as of 3, and conducted repeated measurement health surveys for 5 to 6 years. It was found that the scores of psychological distress were significantly higher in women and those without a counselor after 6 years (at the time of analysis).

The experience of the earthquake has a negative impact on the psychological state of the victims, but it is reported that this psychological distress will be alleviated over time.Previous studies have shown that social participation and the presence or absence of counselors are involved in factors that influence change. However, the follow-up period of previous studies was as short as 2 to 3 years, and there were few studies that targeted the same subjects or performed multi-level analysis.

Therefore, this time, we conducted a multi-level analysis considering the effects of time, individual level factors, and regional level factors for private rental housing and prefabricated housing for those aged 18 and over who repeatedly responded to the same survey in Miyagi Prefecture. To clarify the factors involved in the change in psychological distress.

As a result, although the score of the subject's psychological distress decreased over the years, it was significant for women, those with a history of psychiatric disorders, those with decreased exercise habits after the Great East Japan Earthquake, and those without counselors. Turned out to be expensive.Additional analysis also showed that spouse and friend counselors contributed to lower scores.

This suggests that even at the time of the analysis six years after the earthquake, there is a need for continuous support from local governments and neighbors, especially for these subjects.
