According to Kobe University, the report has 29 pages and consists of 7 chapters.Chapter 1 is Global Environmental Issues by Associate Professor Shiro Tachizawa of Hokkaido University Graduate School of Letters, Chapter 2 is by Professor Hiroki Takakura of Tohoku University Northeast Asian Research Center and others, and Chapter 3 is International Arctic Environmental Studies by National Institute of Polar Research. Professor Hiroyuki Enomoto of the Center is for science and technology, Chapter 4 is for Professor Akiho Shibata of the Graduate School of International Cooperation Studies, Kobe University to secure the rule of law and promote international cooperation, and Chapter 5 is for Professor Natsuhiko Otsuka of the Arctic Research Center, Hokkaido University. Was written by the Arctic Sea Route, Chapter 6 was written by Professor Shinichiro Tabata of the Slavic-Eurasian Research Center of Hokkaido University, and Chapter 7 was written by Associate Professor Fujio Onishi of the Research Center of the Arctic Region of Hokkaido University for security.
As global climate change continues, temperatures around the Arctic continue to rise more than twice as fast as the global average, with significant impacts on ecosystems and communities.On the other hand, the decrease in sea ice has activated the use of routes in the Arctic Ocean, increasing the possibility of new resource development.
Under these circumstances, researchers from various fields are making various proposals from their own specialized fields on how Japan can relate to the Arctic and contribute to the sustainable development of the Arctic region.
