What kind of exercise is effective in improving cognitive function?A group at the University of Tsukuba has found findings that answer this question using meta-analysis.

 A meta-analysis is an analysis that integrates the results of multiple independently conducted previous studies using a statistical method.Although various studies over the last three decades have shown that habitual exercise improves cognitive function, previous meta-analyses have been limited to specific age groups and types of exercise.Therefore, no clear answer has been given to questions such as what kind of exercise and how much is effective, and whether the effect differs depending on gender and age.

 Therefore, in this study, we conducted a meta-analysis of 30 randomized controlled trials (a method of randomly grouping and evaluating the training effect) over the past 80 years.As a result, the following findings were obtained.
