Keio University's Tonomachi Advanced Research and Education Collaboration Square and MICIN Co., Ltd. are working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders (attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder) to utilize and introduce digital tools in domestic medical care. Start a clinical study to examine the reliability of severity assessment using online medical care for parents.

According to a survey released by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2012, 6.5% of children are suspected of having "neurodevelopmental disorders" such as attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).Patients with neurodevelopmental disorders are prone to cause various emotional and behavioral aspects after adolescence and adolescence, and early detection and early intervention are required to prevent secondary disorders and broaden the range of future social participation. ..

However, the number of specialists and evaluators in the field of child psychiatry in Japan is overwhelmingly short, and the diagnosis of neurodevelopmental disorders mainly has the following three problems.

1. It takes a long time to consult a specialist and be diagnosed (especially in remote islands and areas without specialized medical institutions, it is difficult to receive appropriate medical treatment).
2. There is a limit to the collection of multifaceted information, and the absolute number of evaluators with appropriate training is also insufficient nationwide. Therefore, we have to rely on a simple evaluation scale, and the severity evaluation and diagnosis are likely to vary.
3. Children with neurodevelopmental disorders often have difficulty withdrawal and time management, and continuous hospital visits are not easy.

In order to solve these problems, remote evaluations are already being promoted in various medical fields in Europe and the United States, and video conference evaluations are also used in the psychiatric field, but there are very few precedents in Japan. It's the current situation.

In this study, in order to introduce remote diagnosis and evaluation in Japan, a doctor or clinical psychologist will conduct one remote evaluation and one face-to-face evaluation for children with ASD and ADHD and their parents.Verify whether the remote evaluation is equivalent to the face-to-face implementation and whether the subject accepts the remote evaluation. In the future, we aim to improve the accessibility of medical care in the field of neurodevelopmental disorders by standardizing the diagnosis results through the implementation of central evaluation by specialist evaluators in Japan.
