The Data Science University Education Organization Liaison Committee was established with the person in charge of 6 universities including Shiga University and Ritsusho University, who are preparing to establish and prepare for the establishment of a specialized education organization in the field of data science.Six schools form a scrum to promote specialized education and train specialized teachers.
According to Shiga University, the founders of the liaison meeting are Akimichi Takemura, Dean of the Faculty of Data Science, Shiga University, Hironori Fujisawa, Dean of the Department of Statistical Science, Graduate School of Comprehensive Research, Ryuei Nishii, Dean of the Department of Statistical Science, Nagasaki University, and Watanabe of Hitotsubashi University. Toshiaki Assistant to the Dean of Social Data Science Research and Education, Naoki Kato, Dean of the Faculty of Social Information Science, Shiga University, and Yukinobu Kitamura, Assistant to the Dean of the Faculty of Data Science, Ritsusho University.
In 2017, specialized education organizations of data science established Shiga University's Faculty of Data Science in Japan for the first time, established Yokohama City University in 2018, and Musashino University in 2019. National, public and private universities are in the process of establishing undergraduate departments, departments and majors.
However, while efforts in Japan have just begun, foreign countries, mainly in Europe and the United States, have already established a system for developing specialized human resources in the field of data science, and are producing a large number of human resources in society every year.In the future, in order for the Japanese economy to enhance its international competitiveness, it is essential to train highly-skilled data scientists.For this reason, the Liaison Committee will strategically work on human resource development in the future.
