Otemon Gakuin University (Ibaraki City, Osaka Prefecture) held the first "Open Lecture" of the "Laughing Research Institute" established on October 50, 2015 as part of a commemorative project to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its founding. It will be held on Monday, 1th of March.Under the theme of "Fortune comes to the laughing gate," which is the motto of the Laughter Research Institute, a lecture by Hiroshi Inoue, the director of the Laughter Research Institute, and a rakugo story by Mr. Koharu Katsura, "The utility of laughter" I will consider.

 This course program starts with a lecture by Director Inoue (the first chairman of the Japan Laughter Society), who specializes in laughter studies and information media theory, "The benefits of laughter-laughing and living well".Next, Katsura's rakugo story "Polite Robot AL9000" was performed.This performance is a honorific rakugo created by Mr. Katsura himself in response to a request from the Agency for Cultural Affairs Japanese Language Researcher in 2007 to "make a rakugo that explains how to use the correct honorifics in an easy-to-understand manner."Finally, we are planning a roundtable discussion with three people, including Mr. Inoue, Mr. Katsura, and Mr. Masahiro Manabe (Professor, Faculty of International Liberal Arts, the same university) who specializes in modern Japanese literature.
