The evaluation results of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, which redistributes a part of the operating cost subsidy in response to the efforts of national universities for reform strategies, have been announced.Of the 86 universities nationwide, 42 universities such as Kobe, Wakayama, and Tokyo Arts have increased the amount, and 43 universities such as Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Naruto Education, and Kanazawa have decreased the amount, except for Asahikawa Medical University, which did not request allocation.
Depending on the direction they are aiming for in the next 6 years, each university will have 55 "Contribution to the community" (15 schools), "Characteristic education and research" (16 schools), and "World-class outstanding education and research" (3 schools). It was divided into two and submitted the reform policy to the Ministry of Education.The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology evaluated the submitted contents in FY2016, but from FY2017 onward, it will decide the allocation according to the implementation status of the reform.
The amount of reallocation was about 29 billion yen for "contribution to the community", about 6 million yen for "characteristic education and research", and about 59 billion yen for "world-class outstanding education and research". "Contributing to the community" increased 24 schools and decreased 30 schools, "Characteristic education and research" increased 8 schools and decreased 7 schools, and "World-class outstanding education and research" increased 10 schools and decreased 6 schools.Comparing the allocation amount by each university with the past, 9% of 118.6 schools such as Iwate, Mie, Kyoto Institute of Technology, and Nara Education are the highest.The lowest was 75.5% of Kyoto education.
