Osaka University and Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Chairman Osamu Nagayama, Tokyo) have signed a comprehensive collaboration agreement for immunology research activities.Chugai will contribute 10 billion yen annually to immunology research conducted by the Immunology Frontier Center of Osaka University over the next 10 years.
According to Chugai, the collaboration period is until the end of March 2027.The Frontier Center will continue to carry out free independent research and disclose the results to Chugai twice a year.Chugai has acquired the first choice for joint research, and Chugai selects the joint research theme from the disclosed themes.
The direction is to constantly promote 5 to 10 joint research projects.For this reason, a "Collaboration Promotion Lab" will be set up within the Frontier Center.From the latter half of non-clinical research, Chugai will proceed with research and development by launching an independent project.
The Frontier Center was adopted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology's "World Top Level Research Center Program" and was established in October 2007.About 10 researchers are conducting immunology-related research.
