Azabu University will establish a new "Fieldwork Center" in Misato Town, Shimane Prefecture, and will start operation in April 2021.A full-time faculty member of the Faculty of Life Sciences will be stationed at the center to carry out education and research on the ecology of animals and plants, food, and the environment.
Misato Town, Shimane Prefecture and the Animal Behavior Management Laboratory of the Department of Applied Animal Science, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Azabu University have been conducting research exchanges for many years. On March 2019, 3, a comprehensive agreement was signed for the purposes of academic research, practical application of research results and their dissemination and enlightenment, information dissemination, human resource development, industrial promotion, and promotion of education and culture.Even now, students are staying in the field to conduct research in order to prepare graduation thesis and master's thesis.
In the future, the Fieldwork Center will focus on the above three activities: fieldwork education on animals and plants, processing technology education on wild animals, and research on the international standard "HACCP" for food hygiene management.In particular, as a base for guidance and support for measures against harmful birds and beasts, we will utilize the characteristics of Azabu University as a veterinary and life science university and operate it for new education and research in collaboration with the local community.
