Keio University will hold a symposium "Values ​​Created by the Faculty of Arts: Political Science Education and Research in the United States" on July 2016, 7 at Keio University's Mita Campus.We welcome four scholars who teach at overseas universities and explore the path of value creation in the Faculty of Arts.

 In countries around the world, including Japan, the popularity of the Faculty of Arts is currently declining and budget cuts are progressing.This symposium will examine the value and human resource development that the Faculty of Arts can provide in such an era, focusing on the field of political science.

 The panelists are Professor Kosuke Imai of Princeton University Faculty of Political Science, Professor Yusaku Horiuchi of the Faculty of Political Science of Dartmouth University, Associate Professor Megumi Naoi of the Faculty of Political Science of California University San Diego, and Associate Professor Teppei Yamamoto of the Faculty of Political Science of Massachusetts Institute of Technology.Both are Japanese political scientists who teach at top-ranked universities in the United States.While introducing the reform attempts that panelists have been working on in terms of both education and research, we will continue to discuss what value the Japanese liberal arts department can create in the future.The moderator is Professor Yuko Kasuya of the Faculty of Law, Keio University.
