POL Co., Ltd., which provides a new graduate recruitment service "LabBase" that can scout excellent science students based on the research content, conducted a questionnaire survey on recruitment activities for 99 personnel involved in recruiting science personnel. ..The survey period was from January 2021 to 1, 20, with 27 valid responses.

This survey was conducted in order to investigate the actual situation of the recommendation system of each company in response to Toyota Motor Corporation's announcement in November 2020 that the school recommendation for new technical graduates will be abolished for the purpose of diversifying human resources.

According to the survey, 59.6% answered that they did not use the recommendation system. It was found that about 6% of the recruitment of science personnel no longer use the recommendation system.Regarding the change in the number of applicants via recommendation, 40.0% answered that it was "decreasing".The result was that students were not recommended.Regarding the quality of students applying via recommendation, 35.0% answered that it was "declining".Some of the respondents who asked about the specific low quality included "lack of positivity," "lack of understanding of research," and "low aspirations."

In addition, when we asked the personnel staff of a major manufacturer who introduced the recommendation system about the situation, the number of students hired via recommendation has decreased from about three years ago, and the quality of students applying for school recommendation has declined since then. It is said that he has become anxious. In the interview, I feel that the degree of aspiration is low due to lack of research, the future work is unclear, and the technical level and aptitude test are also low. Therefore, although we do not plan to change the number of students to be hired via recommendation in the future, it seems that there is a great sense of challenge.Another company's personnel manager said, "I think we have to review the recommendations. The other day, when personnel from the same industry gathered, we immediately talked about it. Currently, our company has a high recommendation ratio. , I think that it is a difficult situation to aim for a diverse organization, and I would like to review the number of people in the future. "

From the results of this survey, Mr. Matsunaga, the leader of POL Enterprise Team Co., Ltd., who is in charge of recruitment consulting for many major manufacturers including the automobile industry, says that the recommendation system has many merits and is an important recruitment channel for many companies, but there are limits. On the other hand, he pointed out that problems have arisen. The background is the emergence of new recruitment needs for information-related students and the ability for students to utilize various job hunting services to select a career that is more free and convincing.
Now that companies have the opportunity to face the challenges of the recommendation system, LabBase wants to solve the challenges of the recommendation system and create a world where both companies and students can find more convincing recruitment / job hunting activities.
