In order to expand the "iPS cell stock business" that stores iPS cells used in regenerative medicine, the Center for iPS Cell Research and Application (CiRA), Kyoto University, is a medical institution affiliated with the Tokio Marine Group in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Announced that it will cooperate with "Kaijo Building Clinic". CiRA commented, "We would like to accelerate the construction of the project by cooperating with the Kaijo Building Clinic."

At CiRA, medical iPS cells are prepared in advance from a type of blood that is unlikely to cause rejection during transplantation, with the aim of promptly distributing the necessary iPS cells to research institutions and widely using them in regenerative medicine, and have good quality. We are proceeding with the "iPS Cell Stock Project for Regenerative Medicine" to store things. The plan is to build an iPS cell stock that covers 2017 to 3% of Japanese people by the end of 5, and the stock provision has started in August 2015.

The flow of stock is to ask a person who is found to be an HLA homozygote, such as a donor registrant of a bone marrow bank, to cooperate, collect blood after obtaining consent, and produce iPS cells from it.However, since blood could only be collected at the Kyoto University Hospital, there was a problem that it was difficult to visit even if there were cooperators.

Therefore, in promoting the project, Tokio Marine & Nichido Fire Insurance Co., Ltd., which supports the donation to the iPS Cell Research Fund, proposed the use of the clinic, which is a group affiliated medical institution. The Kaijo Building Clinic is close to Tokyo Station and can collect blood on weekends, so it was decided that it would be possible to enhance the system for collecting cells, and the alliance was reached. This is expected to make it easier for collaborators living in the Kanto region to use it.
