Professor Yohei Arakawa of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies has launched the "Easy Japanese Tourism Study Group" through industry-academia collaboration between Dentsu Inc. and Human Academy. We will propose a new method for dealing with tourists visiting Japan in the tourism field with a Japanese tool for foreigners with limited vocabulary.

"Easy Japanese" is an expression technique that limits vocabulary and makes it easier for foreigners learning Japanese to understand, and is one of the basic skills of Japanese language teachers.Until now, research and practice have been conducted in the areas of disaster prevention / mitigation measures and rewriting of official documents for foreigners living in Japan. In this study group, we will work on converting this to communication in the tourism field, and will carry out proposal activities for new tourists visiting Japan for local governments, tourism and commercial facilities.

Behind the establishment of the Easy Japanese Tourism Study Group, "Japanese Tourism" promoted by Yanagawa City, Fukuoka Prefecture, in conjunction with the "Comprehensive Strategy for Creating Towns, People, and Work" promoted by the government, has become a grant target business. I have had it.Many tourists in rural areas are repeaters from Taiwan, Hong Kong, and South Korea who are highly enthusiastic about learning Japanese, and it can be expected that one of the travel groups will have someone who can speak Japanese. Therefore, the city pays particular attention to Taiwan, which has many enthusiastic Japanese learners. The policy is to promote "Japanese tourism" so that Taiwanese tourists who speak Japanese can speak a lot in Japanese. The study group will promote activities to spread this movement to other local governments by supporting this "Yanagawa method" sideways through industry-academia collaboration.

The study group consists of "Easy Japanese Subcommittee" and "Japanese Tourism Subcommittee".Professor Yohei Arakawa of Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, who has advocated dealing with foreigners in Japanese through his book "Temporarily in Japanese", has been appointed as the chair of the entire study group and the "Easy Japanese Subcommittee". The chair of the "Japanese Tourism Subcommittee" will be Professor Yoshitaka Kato of Tokai University, who is a leading researcher in "Tourist Talk" where tourists visiting Japan and locals have conversations. We will propose the significance of "" and the way it should be practiced.
