From 2023, Kyoto University will partially change the selection method for the special entrance examinations of the Faculty of Economics and the Faculty of Engineering.The Faculty of Economics will abolish the comprehensive selection and make it a school-recommended selection, and the Faculty of Engineering will add a summary of outstanding activity results created by the applicant himself to the submitted documents.The selection guidelines will be announced around June, as usual.

 According to Kyoto University, the recruitment capacity of the Faculty of Economics is 15 for "humanities-based entrance exams" and 10 for "science-based entrance exams."The liberal arts entrance exam is for students who have shown remarkable leadership and problem-solving ability in extracurricular activities and task research conducted as part of the lesson. It is intended for students who have achieved outstanding academic performance in at least one of high school mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology.

 As a recommendation requirement common to the liberal arts type entrance examination and the science type entrance examination,
・ Personality and insight are exceptionally excellent
・ Academic performance of the entire survey is about 4.3 or higher.
・ TOEFL iBT score is about 80 points or more, IELTS overall score ・ Band score is 6.0 or more, TOEIC Listening & Reading Test score is about 800 points or more, GTEC score (limited to CBT) is about 1,190 points or more, Eiken Level 1 pass Meet at least one of these requirements
