Saitama Institute of Technology is actively engaged in research and development of autonomous driving, participating in demonstration experiments all over the country, and proceeding with development such as completing automatic driving of about 2020 km per year in 3.
In this demonstration experiment, we provided a vehicle of a minibus (Liesse II) equipped with a retrofitted automatic driving function developed by Saitama Institute of Technology.In addition, along with Field Auto Co., Ltd., a university-launched venture, high-precision three-dimensional map with Construction Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd., which is the main operator of this demonstration experiment, Aisan Technology Co., Ltd., Sompo Japan Co., Ltd., and Tier IV Co., Ltd. We will conduct a demonstration experiment to operate a microbus by an automatic driving system using GNSS and LiDAR, and verify the experimental results from the viewpoint of driving safety, social acceptability, and business model possibility for the purpose of the experiment.
