Niigata University of Technology to refund admission fees to students who decline admission from 2026

　Admission fees will be refunded for the following applicants: the open-application comprehensive selection system, the open-application school recommendation selection system, the designated school A schedule for the school recommendation selection system (only if accepted by a national or public university), the general selection system, and the selection system using the Common University Entrance Examination. Students who are accepted through the single-choice entrance examination category cannot decline admission.

　Previously, if a student completed the required admission procedures and then declined admission in writing by the end of March, the first semester tuition and support fee would be refunded, but now the admission fee will also be refunded, minus administrative and bank transfer fees.

　Niigata Institute of Technology is a private university founded in 1995 by a small and medium-sized business owner in Niigata Prefecture, who felt a sense of crisis about the hollowing out of technology, and who wanted to "produce excellent engineers in the prefecture through practical education." This was supported by major companies, local governments, and the prefecture's residents, and was supported by support from across the entire industrial sector. Since its founding, the university has continued to contribute to the development of engineers and industrial development through active collaboration with the local community.
