Toyo Eiwa University (Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture) will introduce a new "basic academic ability" category in its comprehensive selection process from the 2026 entrance exam. Applicants will be able to take the exam simply by taking a test to evaluate their basic English and Japanese language skills acquired in high school and by completing a document review, eliminating the need for special preparation and the need for interviews. This will also make it easier to apply to multiple universities, expanding the opportunities for applicants to utilize their current learning.

The "Comprehensive Selection: Basic Academic Ability" exam will support the challenge of students who have steadily acquired basic academic skills through daily classes and regular exams. The exam will evaluate applicants' academic ability through a basic English and Japanese language test, as well as a document review of school records and application forms. There will be no interviews. Applicants can apply to multiple departments and other universities. The application period is from Friday, September 2025th to Monday, October 9th, 26, with the exam on Sunday, October 10th, and the results will be announced on Saturday, November 6st.

In addition, successful applicants who have completed the necessary procedures can take the scholarship entrance exam for free as part of the "Scholarship Challenge," limited to the department they have completed the procedures for. The scholarship entrance exam requires students to submit a school report, a statement of purpose, and academic aptitude tests in English and Japanese, and if they pass as a scholarship student, they will be exempt from tuition fees and other costs of 4 million yen for up to four years.

In addition to this, Toyo Eiwa University offers a variety of entrance exams, including comprehensive selection, scholarship entrance exams, and general selection. Information on various entrance exams can be found on the university entrance exam information page, and students can also get advice at open campus events and individual consultation sessions on weekdays.
