With the start of the Common Test for University Admissions this spring, the first stage of the "New Entrance Examination" has begun. The entrance exam for 2 is considered to be the entrance to the second stage.
This spring, the "University Admission Professional Association (JACUAP)" [see below] will be launched with the aim of training admission officers who are indispensable for new entrance examinations.
Little by little, it's starting to move forward. Two teachers from the high school field contributed to the proposals of the "Conference on the Ideal Way of University Entrance Examinations" issued this summer, and the common subject "Information" that attracts attention for handling in the 2025 entrance examinations.
The second is from the contribution of Professor Takeshi Fujioka (part-time lecturer at Kyoto University), Department of Information Science, Horikawa High School, Kyoto City.

How will the common subject "Information" change with the revision of the course of study?

The recent reform of university entrance exams has been extremely confusing, and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has announced on July 2021, 7 that it will officially abandon the introduction of private English exams and written questions. At the same time, the introduction of the subject "Information" into the Common Test for University Admissions in 30 was announced. Now, the focus of university entrance examination reform is shifting to the subject "information".
Then, how will the subject "Information" be reborn from 2022 by the new high school curriculum guidelines that have been counted down until the start?
Under the current curriculum guidelines, most high school students are studying either "Society and Information" or "Information Science" (both 2 credits).Roughly speaking, "society" is closer to the humanities and "science" is closer to the sciences.Programming education, which has been in the limelight due to its introduction to elementary schools, is included in "science". Whether to study "society" or "science" can be decided for each school, and the current installation ratio is "society": "science" ≒ XNUMX: XNUMX, which is largely biased toward "society". There is.Therefore, the high schools that teach programming are actually a minority, and there is a large disparity between schools. In addition, it is difficult for teachers to be trained because they do not (almost) appear in university entrance exams.
In order to improve this situation, all high school students will learn the common compulsory subject "Information I" equally in the new course of study that will be implemented from 2022.The learning content has been renewed, and at the same time the "scientific" content has increased at a stretch, the emphasis has been placed on finding and solving problems. The level has become even higher than the current subjects, and "Information II" has been prepared as an elective subject to be learned after "Information I".In order to train teachers who teach these, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology has carefully prepared "teaching materials for teacher training" and "practical casebooks".
In this way, the high school subject "Information" is about to be enhanced at once.
