Kyoritsu Maintenance Co., Ltd. has more than 300 student halls (dormitories) nationwide under the name of Dormy. We introduced the RA system seven years ago with the aim of utilizing the student dormitory, which supports students' daily lives, as a place for learning and growth, rather than just living. The RA system regards student dormitories as a "place for learning and growth" so that all dormitory students can grow as human resources who can contribute to society, and students called RA (Resident Assistant) promote exchanges in the dormitory and dormitory students. It is an activity to support.

In order to enrich the student life while learning from each other, we set up a place to announce external activities every year about RA's efforts in each dormitory.

The 7th RA activity briefing session was announced online at Corona, following last year, but the participating dormitories are all 32 dormitories in the Tokyo metropolitan area and western Japan, and the number of viewing applicants exceeds 1,000. It was a large-scale event.

This RA activity briefing session consisted of three parts, and the first part was presented by three representative dormitories.

KU I-House (Kansai University), Komae International House (Meiji University), Musashino Art University Second Student Dormitory (Musashino Art University) announced. There were many ideas for each of them, such as what kind of ingenuity they had in the face-to-face exchanges that were difficult due to the corona, rather than simply having an event and interacting with each other.

At KU I-House, we held a welcome party for new students and sent birthday gifts while thoroughly implementing infection control measures, aiming to be a dormitory that will be memorable even after leaving the dormitory. We also actively utilized SNS to hold vaudeville seats on Instagram and produced original tote bags for the dormitory.

At Komae International House, we created a "Komae Book" that introduces restaurants and general stores in Komae City, thinking of a plan to support restaurants that were hit by the corona disaster and allow dormitory students to live with peace of mind by connecting with the community. ..We also invited a crepe kitchen car to the dormitory and sold it exclusively to dormitory students. This led to the development of limited original crepe products with the owner of the crepe store, and created a new place for interaction between dormitory students. In addition, we plan a service limited to dormitory students so that they can visit restaurants in the form of an event on days when dormitory meals are not provided, and send meals to dormitory students and to shops that are worried about attracting customers. I made a win-win relationship called a customer.

At Musashino Art University Second Student Dormitory, a Halloween event is held while involving not only RA but also dormitory students.Because it is a dormitory where people from various origins gather, we created an opportunity for exchange by using local sweets from all over Japan. In addition, as an exchange with the community, we hold a hands-on workshop to make underwater creatures from cardboard.Furthermore, through the process of such an event, I felt the need for a space for the dormitory students to output new ideas and interact with each other. A proposal to revitalize was announced.

Mr. Keiko Ikeda, a professor of the International Affairs Department of Kansai University, commented that the presentation was very encouraging for the activities that everyone did not give up in a good way.

In the second part, each dormitory was divided into 4 rooms and a short presentation of about 3 minutes was given.Themes are set for each room, room 1 is for external connections, SDGs, international exchange, free themes, room 2 is for sending ideas-using SNS, etc.-rooms 3 and XNUMX are for corona measures and viewing. Was able to watch the announcement of their favorite room.

In Room XNUMX, you can see new ways to interact with international students through collecting PET bottle caps, SDGs-related initiatives such as world gifts for developing countries, holding job hunting consultation events, and "decorating" work. Also, I was impressed by the presentation that I grew up while making the best use of my mistakes.

In Room 2, we can see how they are using SNS and online environment well, such as using LINE and Instagram to provide information around the dormitory, announcing events, and even using online games and bingo tournaments within the event. ..In addition to SNS, we will raise awareness by making announcements aimed at revitalizing exchanges and disseminating information to high school students who will enter the university while adding analog approaches such as calling out and using whiteboards. There was also a dormitory that planned for.

In rooms 1 and XNUMX, the students themselves, such as holding a briefing session about the dormitory at an online event and distributing masks at the welcome walk rally for new students, to first-year students who are newly moving into the dormitory due to the anxiety of university life due to corona. It was well understood that we are working to promote exchanges among dormitory students while thinking about infection control measures. While face-to-face events were difficult, I felt that they were very careful, such as holding new events such as walking and watching movies, and establishing a system to snuggle up to international students.

In the third part, a talk session was held with Mr. Masafumi Nakaya, who has been active as an RA for seven years since the establishment of the RA system, as a guest.

Having experienced the event with 0 participants, I have always been conscious of the dormitory student's perspective when doing RA.From my experience so far, I hope that all active students will continue to try and make errors, and when I went to study abroad, I recalled that my experience at RA was put to good use.Eventually, all the dormitory students were aware of RA, and he told me that if each of them could think about everyone and move, the dormitory life would be more fulfilling.

Finally, looking back on my 7 years of RA life, I would like to express my gratitude most, and conclude that I think that I was able to do various activities thanks to the dormitory manager, dormitory mother, RA promotion team, RA of other dormitories, and everyone. rice field.

Through the presentation, you can get a glimpse of how students grow through trial and error, get hope for new initiatives, and realize the importance of communication during the difficult time of corona. was.
