In April 2020, Kochi Gakuen University was established as a four-year university with the aim of training individuals who can respond to the demands of modern "food" and "medical care" requiring a high level of expertise, and who can contribute to team-based and community healthcare. With "world peace and friendship" as its founding principle, the university aims to cultivate registered dietitians and clinical laboratory technologists who possess solid professional knowledge and skills, as well as a "caring heart." The university offers one faculty and two departments: the "Dietary Science Department," which aims to train professionals in "nutrition" who support people's lives and health from the ground up, and the "Clinical Laboratory Science Department," which cultivates practical skills that enable students to thrive in the latest medical settings. The university fosters creativity and emotional intelligence, and cultivates professional individuals who possess broad general knowledge and sound social skills.
