The "Japan Student Science Award" is Japan's premier science competition with history and tradition for junior high school and high school students.Every year from September to October, we are looking for experiments, researches, and research works that individuals or students have jointly worked on, such as solving small questions and wonders around us, and solving questions about the theory written in textbooks.The submitted works will be judged by experts for document screening and presentation screening, and excellent works will be commended.
Five fields of physics, chemistry, biology, earth science, and wide area (research across multiple fields, etc.) are recruited by prefecture.The works that have passed the local examination and have been selected as the representatives of the prefectures will proceed to the central examination.In the fields of information / technology and applied mathematics, applications are accepted in the form of a central collective examination without conducting a local examination.
If a high school student wins a high ranking in the central final examination, he / she will be qualified to take the school-recommended selection and the comprehensive selection, and will have a chance to participate in the ISEF (International Science and Engineering Fair).
