Since 2011, Sophia University has held the John Nissel Cup, an English speech contest for high school students.We have decided to hold the 13th tournament in 2023.

The John Nissel Trophy was established with the desire to provide high school students with an opportunity to improve their English skills through presentations in English, and to provide them with an opportunity to grow as human resources who will play an active role on the world stage in the future.Many high school students from all over the country have participated in the competition so far.
When judging at the competition, whether the content, the strength of the feeling of "I want to tell the other person!", The ability to express my thoughts and thoughts in English, and to deliver them to the listener in my own words, rather than the accuracy of English. I attach great importance to it.It is also a feature of this tournament that all participants compete equally regardless of whether they have overseas experience.We look forward to the participation of many motivated high school students this year as well!
