Koshien of Science is an initiative to compete in multiple fields in science, mathematics, and information for student teams in high schools (including upper secondary schools and colleges of technology).
The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) established the Science Koshien in 23 to create a place where science-loving high school students from all over the country can gather, compete, and play an active role.
In addition, by creating such a place, we aim to expand the base of people who like science and increase the top layer.
In the tournament, teams of 6 to 8 students from schools that have won the prefectural tournament participate in the national tournament held in March every year. The national competition consists of a "writing competition" that tests knowledge of science, information, and mathematics, and a "practical competition" that competes for problem-solving skills using manufacturing skills and communication skills.
Regarding application for participation in the competition, please contact each board of education via the school as it depends on the implementation status of each prefecture selection competition.
