The University of Tokyo has renewed its strategic partnership with the Stockholm University Group, which consists of Stockholm University in Sweden, the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, and the Karolinska Institute.We will continue to enhance student exchanges and joint research with sustainability as a common theme.
According to the University of Tokyo, the signing ceremony for the partnership renewal was attended by President Teruo Fujii of the University of Tokyo, President Astrid Widing of Stockholm University, President Sigbritt Carlson of the Royal Institute of Technology of Sweden, and Director Ore Ottersen of the Carolinska Institute. Was opened and signed the document.
The University of Tokyo entered into a strategic partnership with the Stockholm University Group in 2017 as part of the Strategic Partnership University Project, which is the core of the Global Campus Model Initiative.So far, a total of four international workshops have been held online in Stockholm and Tokyo, and the academic issues common to both countries have been examined from multiple perspectives such as engineering, medicine, and social sciences.
In addition, mutual dispatch programs for undergraduate and graduate students have begun at the University of Tokyo's Graduate School of Engineering and the Royal Institute of Technology of Sweden, the Graduate School of Education and Stockholm University, and the Graduate School of Medicine and the Karolinska Institute.
By renewing the partnership, we will further deepen our efforts so far and promote interdisciplinary and cross-departmental efforts.
