The use of the TOEFL iBT ® test is increasing year by year not only in study abroad but also in universities in Japan. According to a regular survey conducted by the CIEE International Council for Educational Exchange among universities nationwide, the number of schools using the TOEFL iBT® test score in university entrance exams increased by 2015 in 2018 and 80 when the survey was conducted.In 2018, the percentage of "using" the TOEFL iBT® test score was 60.2%, which is higher than "not using".Furthermore, the number of schools used for general entrance examinations was 2012 at the time of the 11 survey, compared to 2018 schools in 133, which is more than 10 times higher.
Against this background, the Japan Secretariat has renewed the website for test takers in order to give test takers a broader and deeper understanding of the TOEFL® test. In addition to the basic information on the TOEFL test, we have enhanced the content such as learning methods, research materials, and utilization status in Japanese high schools and universities.
In addition, the design has been redesigned with the aim of improving ease of understanding and usability.We have adopted a web design that supports not only personal computers but also various devices such as smartphones and tablets.Furthermore, in addition to making it easier to find information on various events for examinees, a common top page for websites for examinees and websites for groups and faculty members has been newly added as a "comprehensive top page".
Going forward, we will continue to expand the content, disseminate useful information to users, and work to improve the website with the aim of making it easy to use.
