A joint study by the Institute of Social Science, the University of Tokyo and the Benesse Institute of Education found that study and goals have a great influence on children's self-affirmation.It is pointed out that self-affirmation is an opportunity for children to open up the future, but it can be enhanced by the efforts of parents and teachers.

The joint research analyzed the results of a parent-child panel survey conducted continuously from 1 to 3, targeting children from the first grade of elementary school to the third grade of high school, students and their parents of about 2 pairs.

According to the latest survey, when I asked children and students from the 4th grade of elementary school to the 3rd grade of high school "Can I say what my good points are?", "I can say" (affirmation). 55.3% answered and 43.4% answered "I can't" (deny).
However, 3% answered "I can say" for three years in a row, only 31.1% answered "I can't" all the time, and the remaining 20.3% had different answers.

Children and students with improved grades often continued to give positive answers or changed their answers from negative to positive.Another example of increasing self-affirmation
■ Clarify future goals
■ I like studying
■ Have an attachment to the class
■ I believe that most parents can do their best
-And so on were found.

The Institute of Social Science, the University of Tokyo and the Benesse Institute of Social Sciences believe that "it is necessary to motivate and encourage children to change their consciousness about studying, and the relationships between people around them are also important."
